Itinerary

Day 1 :

Arrive Paro by Druk AirArrive Paro by Druk air, the only national carrier. The flight offers you beautiful view of mountains and landscapes. On arrival and after visa formalities you will be received by Our members. Afternoon / evening time free. Overnight in Paro.

Day 2 :

ParoMorning visit to Ta Dzong, now this fortress is the National Museum. Afternoon, see Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of Bhutan. Overnight in Paro.

Day 3 :

Paro - Shana [17 Km, 5/6 Hours]The trek starts from Drukgyel Dzong at 2580m. The trail climbs gradually through rice terraces and fields of millet. Soon, the valley gets bigger and you arrive at army post of Gunyitsawa to 2810m. This is the last stop before Tibet.

Day 4 :

Shana - Soi Thangthangkha [20 Km, 7/8 Hours]The trail again follows Pa Chu (Paro River), up and down through forests. After lunch follow the river climbing up through rhododendron forests and finally crossing the bridge to reach the campsite at an altitude of 3.750m.

Day 5 :

Soi Thangthangkha - Jangothang [19 Km, 7/8 Hours]The trail climbs for a while until you reach the army camp. Then follow the river enjoying the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. A short walk through the valley will take you to Jangothang camp at an altitude of 4040 m. From there, the view of Mt. Chomolhari Jichu and Drake is magnificent.

Day 6 :

Jangothang - Lingshi [ 18 Km, 7/8 Hours]The trail follows the stream for half an hour and crosses the bridge on the right. Beginning of the climb up the first ridge with incredible views Chomolhari, Drake and Jichu Tsrim Khang. Then head to the valley until at the ascent to the Col de Nyele to 4,700 m. After the pass, it's a gradual descent to the camp Lingshi, enjoying a panoramic view of peaks and Lingshi Dzong. Camp at an altitude of 4000m.

Day 7 :

Lingshi - Shodu [22 Km, 8/9 Hours]Road Laya Gasa trek leaves the path of Chomolhari here. The road climbs to a small white chorten on a ridge above the camp, then turns south up the deep Mo Chu valley. The road continues on the west side of the valley largely bare, climbing continuously for a short distance above the Mo Chu. By then crosses the river and climbs steeply for two hours for the Yeli (4820m). The neck, on a clear day you can see Chomolhari, Ganghhenta, Tserim Khang and Gang Masang. Descend along a stream to a shelter, then again down to Shodu camp (4,100 m), a meadow with a chorten.

Day 8 :

Shodu - Barshong [16 Km, 6/7 Hours]At this place, we return to the tree line. The trail follows the Thimphu River, descending through forests of rhododendron, juniper and other alpine forests. The view of the cliff facing rocks and waterfalls are beautiful. After lunch, the trail climbs gently towards the ruins of Barshong Dzong, reaching the camp at the altitude of 3600 m.

Day 9 :

Barshong - Dolam Kencho [15 Kms, 5/6 Hours]The trail descends gradually through a dense forest of rhododendron, birch and conifers, then drops abruptly to meet Thimphu Chu. It says on the river left, climbing over ridges and down the river side. Then crosses a steep cliff to Dolam Kencho, a camp among the pastures at 3600 m.

Day 10 :

Dalakencho - Dodena - Thimphu [8 Kms, 3 Hours]The road goes on inside and outside of the valleys above Thimphu Chu, making a long climb through a forest of conifers and high altitude broadleaf species to the col at 3510 m. The trail then descends steeply to the river and follows it south to the end of the road to Dodena, 2600m above sea level. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 11 :

Thimphu - ParoFull day of sightseeing in Thimphu valley, visiting a memorial Chorten, Tashichhodzong, the National Library ... Directorate Paro in the evening. Overnight in Paro.

Day 12 :

Paro Depart Direction Paro airport for flight.
