Trekking to Langtang provides the perfect environments of rivers, forests and high soaring peaks. Witnessing the Tamangs attired in traditional Tibetan gowns adds to the rich cultural experience. This trek is a great choice for nature lovers and adventurers alike.
The valley is situated in Langtang National Park (the first one in the country), and can be linked with the Sherpa dominant valley of Helembu either by Gosainkunda Pass (4,610m/15,167ft) or by Ganja La pass (5,106m/16,799ft). While Gosainkunda Pass is commonly used by trekkers to traverse to Helambu, Ganja La Pass has always been a concern of trekkers. Crossing the Ganja La Pass with unfavorable weather conditions can make trekking to Langtang one of the most challenging treks in Nepal. Good equipment and knowledge of mountaineering is a prerequisite for this trek.
