Funny Nepal Treks & Expedition organized 17 day upper mustang trekking which offer impressive trekking into the remote Himalayan mountain region with Tibetan influence culture area. Upper mustang lies the Tibetan border is an arise and starkly beautiful land.    Mustang is an ancient Himalayan Kingdom which lies in the northern central part of Nepal and at the top of the Kaligandaki River. Upper Mustang consists of two distinct regions: the southern part and the northern where the languages, culture and traditions are alike to those of the Tibetan people. This area is consider as one of the most interesting and picturesque places in Nepal. The whole area has an isolated and mystical feel to it, enchanting and inspiring visitors to this region.

The trek to Lo- Manthang is through high altitude desert country climbing in and out of the huge sided valley of the Kali Gandaki. In places the gorge which the Kali Gandaki River runs through is the deepest in the world. This region is full of some of Nepal’s oldest Buddhist Monasteries, ancient and isolated villages with quaint white washed houses.

Your arrival to Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be welcomed by our Airport representative from Funny Nepal Treks & Expedition and you will be transferred to Hotel. After check in, you can either take rest or hang around the city, visit our office: it all depends upon your interests and your condition. Overnight at hotel B/B.

After breakfast in your hotel you will meet our tour guide, guided city tour to the UNESCO world heritage sides, historical Durbar Square, religious temple and cultural attraction in Kathmandu (swayambhunath Stupa ,Buddanath Stupa and Pasupatinath ,Patan Durbar Square ,Kathmandu Durbar square ) the sacred place of Kathmandu. In afternoon after sightseeing you will be introduce our trekking Leader and other team members. Trekking guide (Leader) will give short briefing about your trip and transfer to hotel overnight at hotel B/B.

Early morning at around 7am, we drive for pokhara on tourist bus or private care. Along the way we will see more of country side of Nepal that offer greeneries, rivers, different village, farming landscape and splendid mountain view, afternoon we reach pokhara the city of lakes and magnificent different mountain view after check in hotel , we can walk around the most accessible and beautiful, Fewa lake enjoy boating too. Explore, relax and dine by peaceful Lake Fewa. You can even do some shopping during evening hours. Overnight in Pokhara with B/B.

Early breakfast at hotel pokhara after breakfast transfer to the pokhara airport for a morning flight to jomsom, a super lovely flight of 20 minutes over the mountains brings you at jomsong, the district head quarter of Himalayan Kingdome of the Mustang district. Jomsom is also a major village on the kaligandki area linking the age old Trans-Himalayan salt trade route to Tibet. From jomsom it is very windy in the afternoon time, continue to start trek bank of the Kaligandki River. This is the only region where these Saligrams are found and they are therefore distinct from other fossils found elsewhere. After walking around three hour we reach at Ekley-bhatti village. After good stop here for lunch an hour easy walk take to kagabeni which lies at the bank of the two rivers kagabeni in interesting windswept village. Overnight at Teahouse Including meals:B/L/D

Today, our journey starts with a special permit check up and onwards to the river bank of kalagandki. During the walk we have picturesque place to stop through the sandy and windy trails this trails follows theup and downhill. First we reach Tangbe village with white washed house, fields of barley buckwheat, wheat and apple garden. From Tangbe village we trek forward to chhusang and after crossing river head on to small ridges reach at Chele village .including meals: B/L/D

From Chele the trail climbs up to the Takam La (3620m) (pass). After crossing the ridge from Takam La the trail enters a large sided valley with view of Tilicho Peak, Yakawa Kang and damodar Dada. Further descends a little village of Samar (3620m) where you will have views of the distant Annapurna Himal dominated by Nil Giri. The trail climbs up to the Bhena La (3830m) and to Beg La (3840m). Climbing to another pass, the Yamba La (4010m), you will descend steeply following a ridge to (3850m). From Syangboche La you descend to the picturesque village of, spend some time here soaking up the village atmosphere. Over night at Geling Village. Including meals: B/L/D

Turning west from Geling, climbing gently through the fields, passing below Tamagaon(3710m) and turning north you will reach Nyi La (4020m). The trail then drops steeply to Ghami (Ghemi) (3520m), a large village surrounded by many fields busy with the activity of the local people working this arid landscape. From Ghemi the trail first descends and then climbs a rocky path to Tsarang Choya la (3870m). Making a gentle descent the trail reaches to Charang village. Over night at Charang village. Including meals: B/L/DTurning west from Geling, climbing gently through the fields, passing below Tamagaon(3710m) and turning north you will reach Nyi La (4020m). The trail then drops steeply to Ghami (Ghemi) (3520m), a large village surrounded by many fields busy with the activity of the local people working this arid landscape. From Ghemi the trail first descends and then climbs a rocky path to Tsarang Choya la (3870m). Making a gentle descent the trail reaches to Charang village. Over night at Charang village. The trail descends from Charang, crosses the Charang Chu and climbs steeply up a rocky trail, then enters the Tholung valley. The trail turns north and climbs gently to a large isolated chorten, then crosses a stream and reaches the LoLa (3950m) where you will see the view of the walled city of Lo Manthang. Descending for some time the trail crosses a stream and climbs up to Lo Manthang where you will see the school, health post, and police check post and several important chortens. Over night at Lo Manthang.

This day will be spent in this mystical and isolated city. You will awake to the mystical sounds of monks chanting and the heady sent of temple candles. After having breakfast you will visit the four major temples within the city walls. The major attraction of this area is the three storey’s Jampa Lhakhang, the red Thubchen gompa with a massive assembly hall, Chodey gompa and Choprang gompa. After visiting the temples you will take a walk to visit the ACAP office and to Tarchun Gurung’s shop where you can climb up to the roof for a view of the town, and buy a memento to take away with you. Return back to Lo Manthang Camp.over night at Lo Manthang. Including meals: B/L/D

From Lo Manthang the trail climbs steadily offering a last glimpse of Lo Manthang. The trail climbs a ridge at 4070m and continues climbing to the Chogo La (4325m), the highest point on the trek. The trail makes a short, steep descent and crosses the Chharang River, then climbs to Lo Geker and reaches to Ghar gompa a small monastery. Climbing to the ridge, crossing a valley along some alpine meadows, and then dropping down a steep eroded path you will reach Drakmar. Over night at Drakmar. Including meals: B/L/D

The trail descends passing the stone walls and fields of Drakmar, then climbs to a ridge and descends to the lower part of Ghemi and further descending you will reach to Jaite (3820m) and descend again gently to Chhung-Kah. The trail then reaches to Tama Gaon (3710m) and continues descending to Shyangmochen. Over night at Shyangmochen. Including meals: B/L/D

From Shyangmochen the trail follows the quite stream all the way down to Chhuksang. Over night at Chhuksang. Including meals: B/L/D

Trek back to Kagbeni from Chhuksang. Over night at jomsom. Including meals: B/L/D

Fly back to Pokhara. Over night at Pokhara. With B/B

Drive back to Kathmandu. Hotel, B.B. over night at Kathmandu.

Transfer to the Airport for your onward destination.
