Mardi Himal Trek

Mardi Himal trek is situated in the eastern part of the Annapunrna Himalayan Range. It is one of the best cultural treks the Annapurna region has to offer and it is still largely unspoiled, which is why it is considered to be the hidden gem of the Annapurna region. The Mardi Himal Trek is the least visited trek in the Annapurna region which means you will be able to experience authentic local culture, along with the spectacular mountain scenery of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna south and Hiuchuli.

Since Mardi Himal trekking is one of the most remote treks in Annapurna region, you will hardly meet any other tourists along the way.  Mountain Ram Adventures will connect you with friendly local people and offer homestays along the trek. If you are expecting fancy lodging and food, then this is not the trek for you! Mardi Himal trek is recommended for trekkers of all levels of experience, as it is a relatively easy trek.

Mardi Himal trek will also enchant you with the beautiful flora and fauna along the trail. You will be walking through the dense forest, beautiful villages, mesmerizing landscapes, wildlife, panoramic mountain views and the unforgettable rhododendron flower forests. Starting from an altitude of 800 m at Phedi (which is an hour’s drive from Pokhara), you will trek as high as 4700 meters to Mardi Himal Base Camp.  Once at Base Camp you can enjoy the beautiful mountain views of the entire Annapurna range.

Mardi Himal trek can be done in 7 days. You will travel to Pokhara from Kathmandu either by tourist bus (6/7 hours drive) or the plane (25 minute flight) and the trekking  will start the next day from Phedi. Trekking will lead you to Deurali, forest camp, High Camp and Mardi Himal Base Camp.  On the return portion of the trek, you will trek  through different villages like Sidhing, Lwang and Phedi.
