Jomsom Muktinath Trek

The best time for the trek is mid-Oct – end-Nov and the later half of February when the days are crisp and the scenery stunning. For those who prefer traveling at less populated times, any other dates between mid-September and mid-May does not reduce the experience by much. Jomsom – Muktinath trek starts with a 30 minute early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. We head north to Kagbeni, an ancient fortress settlement on the boarder of Upper Mustang trekking from Jomsom. Kagbeni has many things to offer to the visitors. Similarly, Muktinath temple is another attraction of this trek.

Itinerary

You will arrive in the Kathmandu (TIA), you will be welcome by a representative from Funny Nepal Treks. After completing you custom Visa pick up your luggage look for our representative with your name plate at the arrival gate. Our representative will transfer you to hotel. After chick in you can take a rest or visit our office it deepens on your arrival. Overnight at hotel with B/B

After you breakfast we start our UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Kathmandu durbar square, Pasupatinath Temple,Patan durbar square, Bouddhanath stupas, Swayambhunath stupas(Monkey temple ). After finishing Kathmandu city tour you will be your trekking Leader (guide ) in our office after short briefing about trip you will transferred to hotel . Including with B/B

Early morning at around 7am, we drive for pokhara on tourist bus or private care. Along the way we will see more of country side of Nepal that offer greeneries, rivers, different village, farming landscape and splendid mountain view, afternoon we reach pokhara the city of lakes and magnificent different mountain view after check in hotel , we can walk around the most accessible and beautiful, Fewa lake enjoy boating too. Explore, relax and dine by peaceful Lake Fewa. You can even do some shopping during evening hours. Overnight in Pokhara with B/B.

Early breakfast at hotel pokhara after breakfast transfer to the pokhara airport for a morning flight to jomsom, a super lovely flight of 20 minutes over the mountains brings you at jomsong, the district head quarter of Himalayan Kingdome of the Mustang district. Jomsom is also a major village on the kaligandki area linking the age old Trans-Himalayan salt trade route to Tibet. From jomsom it is very windy in the afternoon time, continue to start trek bank of the Kaligandki River. This is the only region where these Saligrams are found and they are therefore distinct from other fossils found elsewhere. After walking around three hour we reach at Ekley-bhatti village. After good stop here for lunch an hour easy walk take to kagabeni which lies at the bank of the two rivers kagabeni in interesting windswept village. Overnight at Teahouse Including meals:B/L/D

Today our trip starts onwards to the riverbank of kaligandaki up stream .During the walk we will enjoying spectacular land scabs and scenic picturesque mountain view . From Kagbeni the path climbs steeply to re-join the direct trail leading to Khingar at 3200m. The trail climbs through a desert landscape till Jarkot Village. A further climb reaches us to Muktinath. Included with B/L/D

Muktinath is one of most important destination for Hindus pilgrimage. It also hold an important place for the Buddhists. In the morning, we visit the Muktinath Temple of the Lord Vishnu. For the Hindus, the region is a "Muktikhsetra"or the region of liberation or salvation. There are water spouts channeled for the stream running above the temple. There is also a Buddhist Monastery nearby. Also enjoy the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri peak from Muktinath. Muktinath itself demonstrates the religions harmony in Nepal. From Muktinath, we continue back to Jomsom Marpha . Included with B/L/D

Today we walked through apple a farm project which produces apple and vegetable for the whole region until you get Tukuche at 2590m after walking few hours we reach larjung village we crass the suspension bridge and continues to heading Kalopani village from where we can see the Annapurna first view and Dhaulagiri mountain . Including B/l/D

The trail further ascends to the Thakali village Ghasa. Ghasa is a paradise for the bird watchers. Continuing along to Dana, Rupse Chahara meaning beautiful waterfall and Kopchepani, The trail now follows the Kali Gandaki river flows under the deep gorge by 2200m in between two 8000m mountaintops are only 38km apart finally we will reach Tatopani, meaning Hot Water in Nepali derives its name from the hot springs there. The hot springs are popular among the trekker to sooth their tired leg muscles overnight at Tea house including with B/L/D

After crossing suspension bridge it climbs up hill heading towards our today destination sikha. A large village Gharkhola and further descend to Sikha village overnight at tea house including with B/L/D

Today we continues to climbs uphill to the most beautiful village Ghorapani where we can enjoy magnificent mountain view . The name Ghorepani in Nepali means "horse-water" owing to its role as an important campsite for traders before it became a trekker's stop. Ghorepani is an interesting place with small shops and stalls for selling local products and craft. Since Ghorepani lies quite higher than our previous stop, we begin to feel the chilly weather especially in the evenings. Stay in tea house including B/L/D

Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3180m.) to Tadapani (2675m.) which takes about five and half hours. Early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. After breakfast trek Ghorepani to Tadapani (2650 m.) through the deep forests of rhododendrons, bamboos and oaks. En route, you frequently see waterfalls, rocks, wild animals, local birds and green scenarios. Tadapani is a small village surrounded by beautiful forests which grants you a magnificent view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, and Annapurna II and so on.

Trek from Tadapani (2675m.) to Ghandruk (1950m.) and it takes about three hours. It is very easy trek by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. You could hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way. This is one of the popular destinations for the birds' lovers. Ghandruk is a big Gurung village. There is a handicraft centre and Gurung museum. From this village you can see the views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail.

It takes about five hours. It is very easy trek by descending gently half of the way through the rice field and local villages. From Ghandruk to until syaulibazar we normally descending then we walk flat part untill Nayapul then we drive from Nayapul to Pokhara. It takes around 1.13 MinutesDay14:

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist mini bus that takes about seven hours. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli,, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city. You can also fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes about 25 minutes.
